Am I entitled to a reasonable accommodation?

The FEHA requires employers with five or more employees to provide reasonable accommodation to individuals who suffer from a mental or physical disability unless doing so would cause an undue hardship.

What is a reasonable accommodation?

A reasonable accommodation is assistance or changes to a position or workplace that will enable disable employees to perform the essential functions of their position.  It can include, but is not limited to, the following:

Providing medical leave or leave of absence

Changing job duties

Relocating

Providing mechanical or electrical aids

Modified work schedule

Allowing service animals at work

Job restructuring

Working from home

Extra training

Reassignment to a vacant position
